Coyote Pretty | Theater Critic's Choice | Chicago Reader

As this remount of their two-woman sketch-comedy show about romantic relationships makes plain, ImprovOlympic veterans Dori Goldman and Margaret Hicks are mistresses of the bizarre situation. Again we meet the Siamese twins looking for love at the gym, the succession of loser guys (played by Hicks) who woo Goldman during a speed-dating session, and Boston couple Arthur and Barbara, whose "pahk the cah in Hahrvahrd Yahrd" accents add hilarity to a spat. Hicks and Goldman are such a strong, charismatic team, smoothly alternating verbal wit and goofy physical humor, that even skits that shouldn't be funny are--for example, an antidrug lecture given by a perky woman and her heroin-addled sister. This time around, as directed again by cowriter Jay Paul Skelton, the comedy is even tighter, and clever enough to remain fresh and funny even on a second viewing. WNEP Theater, 3209 N. Halsted, 773-296-1100. Through August 30: Fridays, 10:30 PM; no show August 9. $12.
