Dear Ms. True:
Ever since I discovered the Reader after moving here a couple years ago, I have used your Showtimes page every week. I see at least one, and often more, movie(s) a week, so I carry it with me all the time. The movie guide that comes with the Tribune is very inconvenient, as one has to search for a particular line of theaters.
This past Friday [November 28] I was very dismayed to see your new Showtimes pages. The worst part is that it's on two pages now (just two downtown theaters on the second page), and the type is smaller and more difficult to read. While I have no problems reading it when I really look at it, it's much harder to find a particular title. The font is very plain and easy to read, but it's so small. It's also not very pleasing to the eye (mine anyway).
The worst part is the two-page layout. Since I live downtown, I'm concerned only with the downtown theaters. Unfortunately, the Water Tower, which I go to frequently, is on the second page. Yet you have all sorts of empty space on the preceding page where you could put that theater and Webster Place, another downtown theater.
Please go back to what you had or lay this out better. Bigger titles and all the downtown theaters on one page would really be appreciated. Anyway, I didn't think there was anything wrong with the page in the first place.
