Ben Joravsky almost has it right ["Where Was Daley?" November 12]. The primary concern of Daley and his gang is the activities of Patrick Fitzgerald, the U.S. attorney for northern Illinois. They wonder what Mike Segal is saying. They wonder if Larry Warner or George Ryan are singing. They're almost apoplectic that Scott Fawell is singing.
Daley owned the previous prosecutor appointed by Clinton. The best hope that local pols have is that Fitzgerald will be "promoted" to D.C. It is no wonder that Daley did not openly oppose Bush.
