Darkness of Light Closing (Theater and Galleries)

When: Sat., Oct. 10, 6 p.m. and Wed., Dec. 30, 6:53 p.m. 2009

The art of photographer Jim Sorfleet will be on display beginning October 10th 2009, at “A Place for Us”coffeehouse. The opening will take place from 6:00pm-9:00pm, admission is free. Jim's work represents a view of life in which while disturbing to some, is meant to be both a reflection of the human condition and a portrayal of the shadowy recesses of our minds. The images are intended to seize the attention of the viewer and conceivably force one to peer deep inside, visiting the aspects of themselves that are often avoided, excluded or ignored. Jim’s inspiration comes from a myriad of sources, one outstanding being the palpable interest in exploring the abyss of his own psyche, which had previously gone unrecognized. The unique muse-like qualities of each one of the models depicted in his work has also played a role in his artistic vision.
