To the editors:
In his January 5 "City File" column, Harold Henderson lists Emlyn Williams as one of the "nondead individuals" who were dropped from the World Almanac and Book of Facts because they are (in the words of the World Almanac's publishers) "no longer visible." Please let me correct the factual misstatement and misguided implication in this item: Emlyn Williams was very visible as an actor (in his one-man impersonations of Charles Dickens and Dylan Thomas) until the year of his death. He passed away in September 1987, about two months before his 82nd birthday.

Another idol crashes. Next time I'll follow the journalistic maxim, "When the World Almanac tells you something, check it out."
