Dirty Work

Chris Farley's extended cameo neither hurts nor helps this crummy 1998 comedy in which Norm Macdonald and Artie Lange play lifelong pals who hire themselves out as pranksters in an attempt to raise $50,000 for a heart transplant for Lange's ailing father (Jack Warden). The pranks are as bland as Macdonald's demeanor, which is supposed to subvert expectations about the role of the straight man in a comedy duo; the subjects of running gags range from anal rape to anal rape. Written by Macdonald, Frank Sebastiano, and Fred Wolf, and directed by Bob Saget.
