Displays of Affection

When: Fridays. Continues through Jan. 13 2012

Terry Horan's solo sketch show visits various, quirky stages of human attraction and connection. A fry cook with an eye for the ladies compares his girl-watching technique to an owl's moves ("I perch, check you out with my eyes, and crank that neck"). A father's birds-and-bees lecture delivers too much information. Despite Horan's high energy and strong physical gifts (at times his rubbery face and limbs recall Dick Van Dyke), there isn't enough meaty material here to justify a full show, and Rex Graff's direction doesn't provide sharp transitions between the sketches.—Kerry Reid
