When: Fri., March 26, 8:30 p.m. 2010
Chicago's Divebar will be celebrating the release of a new album alongside fellow purveyors of Americana Musikanto. Sometimes celebratory, sometimes world weary, Musikanto pulls from the best parts of Ryan Adams country pop and Summerteeth-era Wilco to create a sound grounded in the heartfelt pulse of Chicago. Flame Shark opens the show, reemerging, like starved, desperate buzzards from Engine Studios (Iron and Wine, Modest Mouse, Margot and the Nuclear So Sos), where they've been at work on their fifth album "Farm Life." Marc Ford (ex-Black Crowes) played on a few songs from the upcoming record so expect to hear plenty of fuzzed-out, full bodied, whiteboy soul. All 3 bands will be giving away free copies of their respective albums.
