To the editors:

Catholic bishops put abortion No. 1 on their list of concerns ["Abortion 1990," September 15]. The supreme court is poised to consider new restrictions. It puzzles me that women take seriously what a bunch of dried-up old men dressed in cassocks and surplices or judicial robes, 99.9% of whom have sworn to remain virgins, decide on that question. Fruition or termination of pregnancy should be the concern of only the woman and her doctor.
