Douglas Ewart & the Nyahbingi Drum Choir Critic's Choice Recommended Soundboard

When: Tue., Dec. 30, 8:30 p.m. 2008

See Saturday's preview for Ewart's other concert in town this week. Tonight Ewart, who grew up in Jamaica, will pay homage to his island roots with the Nyahbingi Drum Choir. It doesn’t play as often as Inventions, but it’s existed in one form or another since 1986, combining traditional Rastafarian liturgical music with West African rhythms, gospel singing, and improvising. -Bill Meyer
