Dub Echoes screening All Ages Free

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs kicks off a new music documentary film series, the Reel Music Series, with the Chicago debut of Dub Echoes (2007). Directed by Bruno Natal, it “traces the origins of Jamaican dub music and its influence on the development of hip hop and electronic music” and features interviews with artists ranging from Lee “Scratch” Perry, Bunny “Striker” Lee, and King Jammy to the DJ duo Thievery Corporation and dubstep artist Kode9 (who performs at Sonotheque on Tue 4/14).
