East Meets West Night

East Meets West Night: Opera and traditional Middle Eastern Music -- 7 - 9:30 pm ($15 cover includes sandwich, dessert, coffee/tea/soda and contribution to the performers) First: Returning by popular demand, Audrey Grieme, mezzo-soprano, and Nicolle Hill, soprano, open the evening with a selection of operatic music. Second: Il-Bulbul Ensemble is a traditional Middle Eastern classical group, or takht, based in Chicago. They draw their repertoire from the the golden era of Arabic music. Il Bulbul Ensemble also performs waslas, or sets, of Arabic and Turkish instrumental art music.
