Economic Cycle Bike Tour

When: Sat., June 19, 1 p.m. 2010

On this tour we’ll see how: • Allocation of urban space (land) affects housing affordability, cost of living, wages, jobs, wealth, poverty, and the ups and downs of our economy. • Poor urban land usage propels the march of urban sprawl, the accompanying waste of resources, and needless environmental harm. • Public amenities enhance land value. (Are those who benefit most, also paying the most in taxes?) • Premature real estate development figured into the current economic crisis. This two-hour tour covers ~15 miles. Leaves from the lobby at 28 E Jackson. Free. (Signed waiver required.)
