Edible Science at Adler After Dark Recommended Agenda

Seeing a planetarium after dark just seems to make sense. At this month's Adler After Dark, the theme is Edible Science, and attendees can try miraculin (a glycoprotein that makes everything taste sweet), watch a demo on the secrets of space cuisine, and eat ice cream made using liquid nitrogen. Visitors can also learn about Native American star myths in the Atwood Sphere and go on a "deep space adventure" in the Grainger Sky Theater, though hitting the cash bar too hard beforehand isn't advisable. —Julia Thiel
