The 50s-era sign out front, knotty-pine-paneled walls, and old-school menu make this dining room feel like it should be somewhere in northern Wisconsin. But the mostly male waitstaff is brisk and polished. Big meat is the specialty of the house -- steaks, chicken Vesuvio, veal parmigiana, calf's liver with bacon and onions -- but you can also choose from a dozen pastas. Prices and portions are both large. EJ's also has an extensive wine list and lots of German beers on tap.
