Enemies of War

A relatively routine TV documentary about El Salvador's long civil war and the 1989 murder of six Jesuit priests and two members of their household. Director Esther Cassidy shows how much of the country's wealth was controlled by a small oligarchy tied to the military, but the video breaks little new ground and her repeated shots of the victims are inappropriate. Typical of her visual imagination is a comment about a United Nations report that's illustrated by a shot of the UN Secretariat Building.
