Actor Rahul Bose makes his directing debut with this story (2001) about a hairdresser in an upscale Bombay salon who can read his customers' minds while cutting their hair. He uses his telepathic powers to hook up a young couple too shy to act on their mutual attraction, save a nutty failed actor (Bose) from suicide, and help a socialite conceal the fact that her husband has dumped her. He has an affair with a gorgeous female client, but it's only when he uncovers a terrible secret that he can begin to cure his own emptiness. Stylish color schemes make this pleasing to look at, though the uneven narrative is both a minus and a plus—in one of the best scenes, beggars do an impromptu celebratory dance in the salon. 103 min.
