Fierce Light: When Spirit Meets Action

Rated NR

Leftist documentarian Velcrow Ripper is a righteous soul and would have you know it. This 90-minute plunge into his perfumed navel delineates the boundary between—in Ripper's words—“the outward, activist part of me that's committed to making the world a better place” and “my quest to understand my inner self and its place in the universe.” His advanced views on racism (bad), the environment (imperiled), and so forth are seconded by a predictable series of sanctified talking heads (Alice Walker, Daryl Hannah, Bell Hooks, sundry Third World spiritual leaders, and Julie Butterfly Hill, that chick who camped out in the condemned redwood). You're not worthy to see this.
