Indian pop star Amit Kumar, the son of legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar, screens a pair of short films he directed. In Ashwatthama (the Elephant) Is Dead (1997), God threatens to destroy the world unless a young man finds a fully truthful person. In Judgement Day (1997) two brothers find themselves in jail. Kumar will also give an “audiovisual introduction” to Indian movies, followed by a discussion with filmmaker Robert Martin Teetsov. Monday's screening is by video projection; Wednesday's is in 35-millimeter.
