Films from the Saint Petersburg Documentary Film Studios, program one

This year's festival highlights work from the historic Saint Petersburg studios, including these three works. Anthology (2001) collects archival footage of Russian and Soviet composers, and Pavel Medvedev's The Very Best Day (2002) looks at an organ maker in a small Russian village. Sonata for Hitler (1989), a ten-minute “parable about dictatorship,” was directed by Alexander Sokurov (Russian Ark).
