Novelist Denise Chavez, winner of the American Book Award for Face of an Angel, has just published Loving Pedro Infante, whose protagonist is a divorced woman infatuated with the Mexican screen idol of the 1940s and 50s. For this program in the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum's performing arts series “Del Corazon 2001,” Chavez will introduce two Infante features—Nosotros los pobres (1947, 128 min.) and Ustedes los ricos (1948, 130 min.)—and lead a discussion between the screenings. Both films will be shown in Spanish without subtitles.
