Kudos to Michael Miner [Hot Type, August 23] for his thoughtful analysis of the flap generated by Gaza Strip. Unfortunately, too many of my coreligionists are prone to hyperbole in defense of Israel. The cry of "blood libel" is absurd, and cheapens the term for the future, when it may well be needed again. And the treatment of every claim by the Arabs as a blatant lie turns away those reasonable people who attempt to be objective. I do not yet know what the truth is in this situation, but neither the protests of Holocaust survivors nor the campaigns of PR organizations will sway me in the face of physical evidence.
