When: Sat., Aug. 15, 12 p.m. 2009
For everyone who watched longingly as other kids tore up their yards in pint-sized battery-powered Jeeps, and for those lucky kids who got to drive them, the first annual Power Wheels Racing Series will bring out your inner 5-year-old. Local hacker space Pumping Station: One announces this competition that will push the Power Wheel to limits Fisher Price never imagined or intended. Teams will compete in events ranging from the grueling Grand Prix of Logan to a polo match straight out of Wonderland, all hoping their car will be the last to crumble. Munch hot dogs and tasty home-baked treats while you cheer your favorite team in this mini-battle, and listen to local artists between races as you debate which team will have to break out the fire extinguisher first. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit pppwrs.com or pumpingstationone.org.
