Before it arrives on your plate, food takes a fascinating journey—and we don't mean from the freezer to the fryer to the kitchen floor to your plate. But that's interesting too. The exhibit "Food: The Nature of Eating" details how food goes from "land to market to plate," and focuses on Chicago's role as a hub for food transportation as well as alternative farming. There's also a life-size bison, a replica of a 19th-century John Deere plow, and a replica of the Union Stockyard Gate to admire.
