Freud Leaving Home

Not really a movie about Sigmund Freud, this 1991 first feature by Sweden's Susanne Bier is about a 25-year-old Jewish woman nicknamed Freud because of her habit of psychoanalyzing everyone. The story takes place during a family reunion occasioned by the 60th birthday of the mother, a German-born Holocaust survivor, and involves conflicts between the heroine and her siblings—a gay brother who lives in Florida and an Orthodox Jewish sister who lives in Israel. With Ghita Norby, Gunilla Roor, and Philip Zanden.
