GALA FOR DISCOVERY’S CHARITY CAWC

When: Fri., April 16, 6 p.m. 2010

Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC), a Chicago organization committed to ending domestic violence, will host its 24th Annual Spring Gala Sounds of Silence on Saturday, April 17 at 6 p.m. at The Union League Club (65 W. Jackson Blvd.). Sounds of Silence gives recognition and a voice to the too often “silent” crime of violence between individuals and within families. WGN-TV’s Judie Garcia will serve as the master of ceremonies of the black tie optional event, which includes cocktails, a silent auction and mystery wine raffle, followed by a seated dinner, live auction and dancing with music provided by DJ Spencer Lokken of Style Matters. Individual ticket prices begin at $225, and VIP tickets can be purchased for $500 a piece. For ticket information, contact Anne Borg at cawcaborg@mindspring.com or call 773.489.9081, ext. 21.
