It's one thing to be called a genius. Like, "Hey. You inserted that USB cord right side up on the first try. You must be some kind of genius!" It's another thing altogether to receive a MacArthur "Genius Grant." It comes with a lot more credibility. Writer and grant recipient George Saunders—whose insightful, hilarious writings are featured in the New Yorker, Harper's, McSweeney's, and GQ— comes to town to read from his latest collection of short stories, The Tenth of December, at Lincoln Hall. After the reading, Saunders sticks around to sign books and participate in a Q&A with Chicago-based writer Adam Levin.

Price: $5, free with book purchase at the event
