Give the Director Some

To the editors:

I can't believe (!) that you were so moved by The Sleepwalker's Ballad [May1], and failed to recognize the director!

Karen Vaccaro is the woman who had this unusual vision and the courage and power to elicit these "vivid and moving" performances from her cast. It has been said that truly beautiful direction has an invisible hand, but I find your omission offensive. If you really think this vision was fulfilled, and an exceptional moment of theater created, please acknowledge the artist who took the risk of putting her vision and her artistic life on the line.
