A young video-store clerk in Santa Monica (Jason Ritter) swoons over a sickly looking customer who won't have anything to do with him (Marianna Palka); eventually he talks his way into her apartment and even her bed, but she recoils from his touch and confines her sex life to masturbating to porn videos. The reason for her dysfunction is concealed until the very end, which prevents the story from going much of anywhere, and her secret, when revealed, doesn't come as much of a surprise. But the kids' odd relationship is persuasively handled, and there's some pleasant comedy involving the clerk and his eccentric coworkers (Martin Starr, Eric Edelstein). Palka directed her own script.
