Good Old Naughty Days

This 2002 feature comprises a dozen silent French hard-core-porno vignettes made between 1905 and 1930, from a trove of 300 such reels discovered in the attic of a private home. Among the highlights are L'atelier faiminette (1921), which may contain the cinema's first rim job; Homework (1920), which opens with a nun being serviced by a dog; and Buried Treasures (1925), a bawdy animated cartoon whose protagonist must retrieve an alarm clock and a shoe from his lover's vagina before getting down to business. Once the jaw-dropping surprise of seeing quaint silent movies turn into three-way fuckfests wears off, they're just as monotonous as any pornography, though their historical interest—like the performers—can't be denied. 67 min.
