Gwishalaayt—The Spirit Wraps Around You

Directed by Barb Cranmer, this 2001 video documentary focuses on six Native American weavers from the coast of British Columbia who travel to southeast Alaska and the Yukon. Admission is free at the University of Chicago Film Studies Center, where the video will be paired with Cranmer's first documentary, Laxwesa Wa—Strength of the River (1995), about the fishing traditions of native tribes on Canada's west coast.
