To the editors:

"What Spike Found" [August 14] is a jarring reminder of what is wrong with American journalism today. Instead of reporting the facts of the Wolfson case as they were, Peter Kendall produced a piece of work that not only attempted to compete with Stephen King's worst novels, but should have found its way into the National Enquirer where it really belonged. The story was an insult not only to your readership and past examples of fine Reader journalism, but also to the Wolfson family who are no doubt going through some very trying times. I hope this piece never falls into their hands--imagine the pain. Mr. Kendall has the heart of a dog!
