Honor Student Breakfast

When: Tuesdays. Continues through Nov. 23 2010

Honor Student Breakfast's headlining status notwithstanding, it was an opening team that made this evening of long-form improv on the night I attended. Following the quirky ladies of Madame Senator, the three men of Pudding Thank You built on the suggestion of "ginger ale" to create a clever world featuring strong characters and smooth scene changes. They began as a group of friends playing Risk; hilarious accents, a Russian-military-themed prom, and corpse reanimation followed. The members stayed quick on their feet throughout. Honor Student Breakfast closed the show as crazy uncles telling dark secrets to their niece on her prom night. The nine-man ensemble projected high energy throughout, but their reliance on shock value grew tiresome. --Marissa Oberlander
