The world's worst policeman stumbles upon the least competent cover-up ever in Logan Brown and Matthew Benjamin's dizzily implausible thriller. From the moment the action opens--two buddies get pulled over in the middle of Nevada in the middle of the night--the script strains to convey that things onstage aren't what they seem. But since none of the math in this fictive world works out--down to the smallest gesture--clues disappear in a blizzard of bad-faith plot moves, and the eventual truth of the situation rings as false as the fibs previously concealing it. The fresh-faced, appealing Open Cage Ensemble cast doesn't stand a chance against such thoroughly counterfeit material. --Brian Nemtusak a Through 4/7: Thu-Fri 8 PM, Sat 8 and 10:30 PM, Angel Island, 735 W.
