I Got the Hook-up | Chicago Reader

I Got the Hook-up

There could be more music in this comedy about a charming guy (Master P, who also wrote the screenplay) and an annoying guy (A.J. Johnson), business partners who receive a shipment of cell phones intended for somebody else. The charmer, who's sweet on a cellular-fraud investigator (Gretchen Palmer), enlists her to connect his customers, and all the new cell-phone traffic attracts the attention of law enforcers. In between dead-end references to Blue Velvet the movie reveals two FBI agents' unusual method of going undercover and the breasts of several topless actresses. Directed by Michael Martin.
