I Thought My Father Was God

When: Thu., Sept. 17, 7 p.m. 2009

"If we want our children to succeed in life we need fathers to step up. We need fathers to understand that they're work doesn't end with conception ... I decided that if I could be one thing in life, that would be a good father." President Obama, June 20th, 2008 Inspired by this challenge, the Men's Media Network is presenting a free townhall-style meeting on for all to share, learn and connect on what it means to be a good father today. When children see their father, do they see a god? And, what do they see in their father as an adult? How does he and do you embody this image as omnipotent creator, superhero, fearless? Community leaders, such as Beth Aldrich, Bharatiji Joplin and Rev Bob Thompson, will share father stories that touched and changed their lives. Hilarious, wrenching, miraculous.
