Infected The Short List (Theater) Closing (Theater and Galleries)

When: Wednesdays. Continues through June 26 2013

Jen Ducharme and Bridget Muhl have a nice, cracked presence and a sense of daring. What they don't have yet is a show. Intriguing as it can be at times, too much of this 40-minute, two-woman sketch revue is either fuzzily conceived or incompletely executed. A string of private jokes made public. Idiosyncrasy as an aesthetic. The bit involving Easter eggs? The one where two oncologists give a singsongy presentation while fooling with an anatomical diagram and some pieces of felt? They have a certain charm, sure, but no point of entry. Still, there are some crystalline moments. A high point is Ducharme's interaction with an audience member: she creates an amusingly queasy social situation by insisting on how much he resembles her dead brother. —Tony Adler
