It's All Gone Pete Tong

A DJ (Paul Kaye) is lionized on the club circuit in Ibiza, Spain, but his endless party of sex, drugs, and massive beats comes screeching to a halt after he goes deaf. Directed by Michael Dowse, this Australian mockumentary offers plenty of cheap laughs early on, with Canadian comic Mike Wilmot especially funny as the DJ's bluntly cynical manager. But after the DJ loses his hearing, Dowse makes an ill-advised turn into drama, and Kaye is handed the difficult task of conjuring up some sympathy for his buffoonish character. R, 88 min.
