Je T'Aime, Je T'Aime

A science fiction story—a man is given a chance to relive one minute of his past in a not-quite-perfected time machine—serves as the basis for one of Alain Resnais' more schematic explorations of memory and desire (1968). With neither the mystery of Last Year at Marienbad (1961) nor the pain of La Guerre Est Finie (1966), it's an idle and only occasionally interesting narrative experiment. In French with subtitles.
