Jerry and Tom Closing (Theater and Galleries) Member Picks Recommended The Short List (Theater)

When: Thursdays-Sundays. Continues through March 21 2010

Rick Cleveland's comedy begins with a hooded figure tied to a chair, telling guy-walks-into-a-bar jokes to the title characters, a couple of hit men who are about to kill him. From there, we jump back ten years to see Jerry being trained by laid-back but lethal Tom. Despite their gruesome day job, both men seem to be regular Joes, lecturing their kids about family values over spaghetti. Matt Dyson kills as Jerry, transforming from a naive car salesman to a wild-eyed, bloodthirsty assassin. Brad Woodard grounds this spare Idle Muse Theatre Company production as unassuming, likable Tom. --Marissa Oberlander
