A Mexican day laborer in southern California gets mixed up with two redneck outlaws who hire him as a driver in this 2004 feature by Bradley Battersby. Jesus is the sort of saintly idiot often found in satires: he doesn't understand for an alarmingly long time that they're committing crimes, and once he does he seems incapable of action. All he wants is to go home to his girlfriend, though he's prevented from doing so by the media hype around the trio's “crime wave.” The movie is hampered by the protagonist's stupid passivity and by Battersby's erratic mix of sincere drama and broad comedy.
