Gregory Smith (TV's Everwood) is the only draw in this tepid high school comedy. When some fellow students are expelled over free speech issues by the draconian principal (Julie Bowen), seven classmates use their video cameras to politicize the student body. Producer-cowriter Andrew Shaifer would have done better to avoid such stock characters as airheaded cheerleaders and gay musical-theater devotees; his jokes all too frequently misfire, trivializing his theme about the threatened rights of minors (and minorities) in an increasingly conservative culture. The supporting cast of Adam Arkin, Rosanna Arquette, Elizabeth Perkins, and George Wendt is wasted under cowriter Josh Stolberg's direction. PG-13, 91 min.
