Aguijón Theater Company presents the U.S. premiere of Sergio Blanco's play, which also marks the first time the Franco-Uruguayan playwright's work has been produced in this country. Loosely inspired by Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, Kiev won the 2004 National Playwriting Prize in Uruguay. Cuban-Spanish director Abel González Melo stages the work, with the cast including Aguijón founder and co-artistic director Rosario Vargas, ensemble members Sándor Menéndez, Oswaldo Calderón, Marcela Muñoz, and guest actor Israel Balza. Presented in Spanish with English supertitles.
