Ecuadoran food in a small but elegant storefront.
This small but elegant corner restaurant serves Ecuadoran specialties including the namesake humita, a tamale filled with corn pudding instead of meat. Other typical dishes include empanadas; fried flank steak served with lentils and rice or fried eggs, avocado, and potatoes; llapingachos, or potato pancakes, served with fried eggs and chorizo; and shrimp with saffron rice. There are also grilled lamb chops, pork chops, and a couple of pasta dishes. Desserts include flan, quimbolito (steamed corn pudding with raisins), and a citrus-flavored cheesecake with a rich chocolate crust. Live music Thursday through Saturday.
