Ecuadoran BYO and taqueria.
La Sierra has two menus in one, Mexican and Ecuadoran. The main difference seems to be that Ecuadorans love goat and tripe. When I once inquired about ordering off the Ecuadorian menu, the waitress crinkled her nose and said, "No, no good." In recent years the restaurant has undergone extensive renovation -- new tile, paint, tables, and festive decorations, not to mention an enormous oversize TV which seems to be permanently set on a Hispanic soccer channel. The food is mostly standard taqueria fare and usually quite good, but special attention must be paid to their superior burritos and tortas--hese are jumbo, overstuffed beauties (the vegetarian comes with half an avocado).
