The so-called gambling experience of Chris Anderson hardly entitles him to be called a gambler [December 4]. Obsessive, yes; a gambler, no. There is nothing in the article that suggests Mr. Anderson knows anything about the real world of gambling. Anderson made some initial low-limit transactions as a losing trader. In the article, Anderson is quoted: "For compulsive gamblers, it's not losing that's a problem--it's winning." In his case, that is wrong. Had he been a successful trader, he would have had no "gambling problem," while perhaps still exhibiting obsessive behavior.
