Life & Times, Office of Future Plans, All Eyes West 17+ Early Warnings (Music) Soundboard Recommended

When: Sat., Dec. 3, 9 p.m. 2011

Baltimore's Office of Future Plans is a new band, but its music might sound familiar—the four-piece is fronted by D.C. punk icon J. Robbins, who perfected the art of the angular postpunk anthem during his years in Jawbox, Burning Airlines, and Channels. OFP's recent self-titled debut, released by Dischord, is a solid addition to Robbins's discography, albeit mellower than most of it; strewn among the straightforward, rollicking numbers ("Harden Your Heart," "Dumb It Down") are tunes that turn down the heat ("Your Several Selves," "You're Not Alone") and get moody ("Beautiful Barricades," "Abandon"). —Leor Galil See also Sunday, when Robbins plays an acoustic set. The Life & Times headline; Office of Future Plans and All Eyes West open.

Price: $12
