Lissy

An East German feature from 1957, directed by that country's most celebrated filmmaker, Konrad Wolf. In the fateful year of 1932, a young woman is fired from her job as a sales clerk when she finds she is pregnant. Desperate and without hope, she finds herself alternately drawn to the political options represented by her husband (a Nazi), her father (a social democrat), and her friend Max (a communist). I wonder who gets the nod.
