Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights returns to live performance with an outdoor staging of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's 1982 horror-comedy musical, based on Roger Corman's 1960 cult film, The Little Shop of Horrors, about a nebbishy florist-shop assistant, the girl he falls in love with, and the deadly plant that gets in the way of their romance. Enrico Spada directs, with music direction by Kenneth McMullen and choreography by Breon Arzell. The production takes place at the corner of Evergreen and Eastman, a few blocks north of the theater. Patrons are required to wear masks and folding chairs and restrooms are provided. No outside food or beverages are permitted.
