Lost and Found Member Picks Free New Review (Theater and Comedy) The Short List (Theater) Closing (Theater and Galleries)

When: Fridays, Saturdays. Continues through June 27 2015

This world premiere from the New Colony's 2015 Associate Company Member Intensive Program examines the pros and cons of hyperconnectivity in the modern world. The story begins with Jack, played by Evan Sesek, who's retreated to the woods because he wishes to live deliberately, as Thoreau would say. Time passes, and his simple, screen-free lifestyle attracts Julianne, a disenchanted office worker looking to reconnect with her creative spark. Played by Kristi Parker-Barnhart, Julianne is a larger-than-life character verging on cartoonish, but surprisingly, she's more nuanced than the rest of the cast with her charming sincerity and bawdy ukulele ditties. Her complicated, near-romantic relationship with best friend Miles, played by a wonderfully sarcastic and deadpan Esteban Reyna, is the one to root for as she becomes torn between a life of Netflix or looking out the window. —Marissa Oberlander
